Washing your car’s exterior seems straight to the point and simple enough. Right? But, are you aware that there are things that you could be doing that might be doing more harm than good to your car? Here are some tips to help you properly wash your car. WASH YOUR CAR WEEKLY
You might think it is excessive to wash your car once every week, but it is important. Some even wait a long time for all the dirt and grime to and accumulate on the surface, before washing it. Washing your car once every week will save you time and effort from removing dust, bugs, pollutants and acid rain that hardened over time on the surface of your car’s paint. Always remember to give your car a rinse, after an acid rain. It will prevent permanent scarring on the paint. WASH IN RIGHT TEMPERATURE It is advisable to not wash your car in the heat or at high temperatures. Washing on a hot day would not only be tough, but it could also cause deposits which would later damage the paint. Keep the car cool and park it in the shade. PREPARE PROPER TOOLS AND SUPPLIES Only use cleaning products that are specifically made for cars. These products are gentle on your paint. You will need a large sponge, a bucket and a hose with running water. The sponge will help avoid leaving scratches. It’s important to remember to rinse your car with a hose because there is a chance of working grit and scratching the paint. WORK ON ONE AREA AT A TIME Choose an area on your car where you want to start. Wash, rinse and dry it, before moving to another section. Have you noticed a distracting swirl mark on your car when you wash it? It can be easily avoided by moving your sponge in straight lines rather than working in circular motions. WAX YOUR CAR BI-ANNUALLY Contrary to popular belief, waxing does not damage your car’s finish. It helps protect your car’s paintwork and maintain its value. Waxing your car twice a year is an absolute minimum. It prevents abrasions acquired from constant wash and weather. Applying wax also gives your car a nice gloss and brilliant shine that can last a year. With all the effort and work you have done, you can now be confident that your car’s stunning exterior would last for a long time. Your car is one of your most valued investment and should always be cared and protected. Secure it with the best auto insurance. Car cleaning is necessary to make the car clean and shiny. Car washing is also helpful to prevent contaminants like dust, dirt, pollen, tree sap, bug guts, salt, air borne pollutants from adhering to the vehicle. It is important to wash and rinse the dirt from underneath the car and from wheel wells. We should put a coat of wax or polish on the car to make it not only shine, but to protect it from dirt, debris and sun which can cause damage. Along with car’s exterior we should also clean the car’s interior. Many car experts recommend to wash the car once a week to make it free from contaminants.
