There are about thirteen ways to ant-proof your home. These ways include the use of things that you can readily find in your house and will ensure that you permanently eliminate ants from pestering you. Tape and Baster for an Ant-Free Home
A way to get rid of ants is to use adhesive tape. Cover any item you want ant-free with the sticky tape side up. Another method is through the use of boric acid and a baster. The baster will help you thoroughly distribute the boric acid in hard-to-reach places in your house. It is important to note though that boric acid is toxic and so anything toxic should always be kept out of children’s reach or any pet that might mistake it for food. Get Rid of Ants with Chalk, Flour, and Flower Pots You may also use chalk to do away with ants. You would need to draw lines around entry points to your house. You may also powder the chalk and sprinkle it on areas that you want ant free. In doing this process, you will not only get rid of ants but also slugs. With the same method you used for the chalk, you may also use flour to get rid of ants. You need to sprinkle them on the parts of your house you want to be ant free. Another technique to get rid of ants is to use a flower pot. This method is used to destroy the anthill. It is done by placing the pot on top of the anthill with its drain hole facing up and pouring hot water into the hole. Use Lemons and Oranges to Fight Ants Medicines such as insecticides and other conventional items advertised to kill ants are not necessary to have an ant-free house. One of the most effective tools which you can use to eliminate ants might just be found in your refrigerator. Why don't you try using lemons? Get those lemon juices out on those spaces that you would want ant-free. Maximize the use of lemons by putting lemon peels on the entry points to your house. Lemons also work well with other crawling insects. Did you know that another citrus fruit you may use to get rid of ants from your home are oranges? Orange peels puree will do the thing. You may put this solution on the anthill. Use Pepper, Water, and Salt to Drive Ants Away Who doesn't sneeze the presence of scattered pepper in the air? You may also use pepper to get rid of ants. Another way to prevent ants from crawling into your table is having each leg of the table dipped in water inside any plastic container. Ants would want to drown in its way to get food. Last but not the least. Try using salt. This home staple item always comes in handy when there are ants around. I had no idea pepper, water and salt could be used to drive away Ants. I know ants tend to find small openings in your house and make their way in through those. Any exposed wood on your house can also attract ants, and even worse termites. Getting a new roof is one way to help ant proof your house
